This page is prepared by the Latrobe Region
Power Generation Industry1 as part of their reporting obligations
and supported by Paperlinx-Maryvale Mill.
The National Pollutant Inventory (NPI)
is a national database established by Environment Australia to
provide information on the emission of certain substances (pollutants) to
the environment.
The database is available via the Internet
and is designed to provide information to the community, industry and
government.
The companies involved in the Latrobe
Valley Power Industry have collectively agreed to report their emissions
under the provisions of the NPI through this page. The same report will
appear in the NPI Database.
| National Pollutant Inventory
Full details on the NPI are not shown on
this page. The following hotlinks will take you to excellent
information sources.

has a good description of each pollutant. |
Emissions to Air from Power
Stations
The following table gives the name of
Pollutants that may be emitted into the air by power stations.
Not all of these pollutants are reported
by Latrobe Valley Power Stations as they are either not present in the
emission or are at a level below the threshold for reporting.

The Latrobe Valley Power Generation Companies are required under EPA
Regulation to comply with the requirements of the NPI. Paperlinx - Maryvale
Mill has no requirement but as an associated regional industry has agreed to
be part of this joint information.
